A North London home where connection, light and a sense of crafted continuity define every move. Keyes Road began life as a red-brick Victorian, but Studio Tashima’s sensitive re-imagining opens the house to the garden and to itself — three new extensions forming one flowing, interlinked ground floor. Differently scaled arches guide sightlines and subtly shape atmosphere, ensuring each space remains intimate while part of a bigger, continuous narrative. To ground that experience, we developed a deeper shade of our Tobacco Cove especially for this project — its natural warmth and quiet grains in harmony with brass, blackened metal and the curated palette of furniture, artwork and reclaimed objects that give this home its soul. Architecture and craft work in concert here — fluted columns, generous cornicing, mitred thresholds and soft transitions between levels forming a gentle rhythm across surfaces and rooms. Light arrives from every direction: clerestories, skylights, garden views — each brushing against the wood, deepening tone and drawing out subtle textures as day moves to evening. Inside and out, original period details remain intact, now complemented by contemporary layers that feel rooted rather than imposed. The result is a home that balances heritage with modern ease: warm, tactile, deeply considered — a place designed not just to live in but to feel. Designers: Studio Tashima
